Hōm Bayshore

Life in Wisconsin is marked with a rich history of hard working people who enjoy simple pleasures. SURG Restaurant Group’s newest setting, Hōm, celebrates simple farm-to-table cuisine and the growers and producers in our community who share the same passion for pairing locally farmed ingredients with dramatic flavors.

From bright and crispy to smoky and earthy, the tastes at Hōm draw inspiration from Wisconsin farmers markets, small growers, ranchers and local fishermen. The unique partnership between SURG Restaurant Group’s own Mike Polaski and his Hidden Creek Farms, located in New London, WI, is one more way Hōm assures its diners the highest quality beef, pork and produce from pasture to presentation. Wisconsin Hōme-grown enthusiasts, micro-brew aficionados and anyone willing to catch a bit of Wisconsin sports fever at the bar are invited for a real, honest meal with a touch of elegance, in true SURG tradition.

Milwaukee's premier steakhouse, Carnevor is one of Wisconsin’s most acclaimed fine dining destinations. A restaurant consistently topping year-end “Best Of” lists, Carnevor has been lauded for its variety of culinary tastes – from our luscious barrel-cut beef to mouthwatering New York Strips and bone-in fillets. Our steak menu offers exquisite wet- and dry-aged USDA prime beef – a distinction afforded to less than two percent of all American beef – as well as daily selections of the coveted Kobe, imported from Japan to guarantee the most succulent and tender waygu. And with a wine list featuring more than 750 selections, you’ll always find the perfect bottle to uncork with your meal. But it’s not merely the “meal” you’ll enjoy at Carnevor. It’s the entire experience: service, music, menu, and more. To top it all, herbivores are always welcome.

The first artisanal establishment of its kind, Distil offers the people of Milwaukee a rare opportunity to step outside the ordinary and into the extraordinary … into a world long extinct … a world so distant in culture’s collective memory, it seems but a construct of imagination. Distil transcends time altogether, offering the ability to transition from modern Milwaukee to a bygone era epitomized by fashionable sensibilities, class, and commitment to quality. Distil isn’t a restaurant so much as it is a destination, one that proudly displays the best Wisconsin – and life itself – has to offer. When you experience Distil, you don’t just bring history back to life, you undergo a personal transformation: no longer a customer, you become a connoisseur.

Goudas Italian Deli

A Danish deli owner who lost his three sons in WWI was struggling through the 1920 depression. In a moment of desperation, he borrowed money from an Italian "friend" with the promise to repay it in a year. After a year, when unable to repay the loan, his friend made a demand, "if you cannot repay the money, you must do me a favor." I will give you another year, but you must let me use the back of your restaurant as a warehouse for importing goods from the old country. The Dutch father unwillingly agreed. During this year unbeknown to the father, his Italian friend (a bootlegger, bank robber, bookie and John) conducted business in the back of the deli at night.  Another year passed. The father again couldn't repay. This time his Italian friend, Bugsy, wasn't so forgiving. He told the father, now I want your business. The father sold and moved back to his family in Chicago. Bugsy renamed it Gouda's Italian Deli. Now, with full control Bugsy turned the warehouse into a speak easy that lasted throughout prohibition...  Rumor has it the Dutchman didn't move away, but lies in the river ....
